Below you can find our favourite plants for late-summer colour. These are a combination of perennials and shrubs, and together they give the garden a new lease of life from July onwards, often into mid-autumn. For the most part these are plants that flower with the boldest of colours – reds, oranges and bright yellows – but one or two subtler flowers, as well as strongly structured plants grown mainly for foliage, also make up their number.
Like our perennials, these plants are sold in a range of sizes, from 9cm up to 2 litres, and have been propagated either earlier the same year or the previous year (depending on the plant and its vigour). All of our plants have been grown ‘hard’ in open air conditions during the growing season, and have strong root systems to stand them in good stead when they reach their new homes.
