Campanula poscharskyana (2 x 1 litre containers)

Trailing dwarf campanula with masses of pink, lavender and blue bell-shaped flowers in summer

Price is for two established plants in 1 litre containers

Description

Campanula poscharskyana, the trailing Campanula, adds a touch of soft colour to the front of any border, container or rockery. It is a low-growing campanula with typical bell-shaped flowers but distinct foliage, more rounded and smaller than taller campanula species with slightly serrated edges. The small leaves form an evergreen mound, growing vigorously in spring before being submerged as the season progresses in masses of small, lavender blue bell-shaped flowers with a papery, semi-translucent texture. Like all Bellflowers, Campanula poscharskyana provides a long season of interest and a bright accent in partially shaded areas.
These established plants have been grown in peat-free compost at our nursery in Cornwall and are supplied in 1 litre containers (the price is for two of these plants). They will grow to an ultimate height of about 20-25cm (8-10 inches or so) with a spread of around double that.

Growing Advice

Bellflowers are generally versatile and rewarding flowers to grow. Trailing campanulas like this prefer more sun than other campanulas to flower really well, and given their native range they also prefer soils that are lighter and better draining. In a mild winter they will remain evergreen.

Before ordering with us please make sure you read the pages below to help you understand what to expect when buying plants online from a nursery such as ours. For instance the photographs in our listings are intended to give you an impression of our plants in their mature (and usually flowering) form. The last photograph in this listing provides an indication of the size of the plant to expect when you buy from us. It is not a guarantee of the way the top growth will look when you receive the plant(s), as this will depend on the time of the season you have ordered the plant and it simply isn’t possible to provide photographs of the plants at every stage of growth during the year. Plants ordered in spring, autumn or winter for example may have much reduced or tired top growth that will regrow later in the season / the following season and you should be aware of this when ordering at these times. If you have any questions about the current condition of any of our plants please do get in touch, or see the links below for more information about what to expect.
