Description
Veronica gentianoides, commonly known as Gentian Speedwell, is a sophisticated and understated perennial that serves as the perfect “bridge” between spring bulbs and summer borders. It produces elegant, upright spires of pale, china-blue flowers that rise gracefully above a low-growing mat of glossy green foliage that emerges bright green and fades to darker green as the season progresses. In contrast to many other speedwells that flower later in the season, this variety is one of the first to bloom, offering a soft pastel highlight in late spring and early summer. Its lustrous, semi-evergreen leaves provide year-round texture, making it an excellent choice for edging sunny pathways or adding light and colour to a woodland border.
